With COVID-19 affecting lives across the globe, we are grateful for the opportunity to continue the Cochrane Farmers’ Market at the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre this year. While we were unable to proceed with the last of our Spring Markets, we’ve received guidance and guidelines from Alberta Health that will make it possible for us to continue with the Saturday market this year.

Although there will be changes, we are hopeful that it will still be a place where we can show our support for the community as well as the many wonderful small businesses that make the market what it is today.

New regulations have been put in place in order to prioritize the safety of everyone while they shop. Certain vendors will have the option for customers to place prepaid orders and pick them up at the market or at drive-thru areas. We kindly ask that customers don’t touch items they don’t intend to purchase to avoid cross-contamination. Vendors will also uphold social distancing guidelines by serving one customer at a time, and the number of shoppers will be monitored so that we can safely enjoy the market without crowds.

While volunteers will be sanitizing the area continually, we encourage customers to wear personal protective equipment and to wash their hands before and after attending the market.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the changes to the market, feel free to email hello@cochranefarmersmarket.ca so that we can do our best to ensure a safe and friendly environment this year.
