Let’s Get Cooking
Recipes
The growers and producers at the Cochrane Farmers’ Market provide great ingredients for cooks who want to use the freshest and highest quality products. As part of our 2019 Local Food Week celebration, we partnered with Chef Susan Hoy to develop a series of eight recipes. Each recipe is an original, created to showcase local ingredients available at the market.
You can check them out below, or download the entire package of recipes here.
Chef Hoy’s custom recipes for 2021 (Summer Corn Chowder and Roasted Garlic Root Vegetable Fries) can be downloaded separately below.
Enjoy!
Summer Corn Chowder
(with seared trout)
More simmered vegetables than soup, and a light fresh meal that’s ready in 30 minutes. Topped with local seared trout, it’s a meal that is best enjoyed on market day.
Roasted Garlic Root Vegetable Fries
Roasted Garlic Root Vegetable Fries
(with spicy dipping sauce)
Fries don’t have to be synonymous with potatoes. You can turn almost any vegetable into fries that are nutritious and delicious. Plus, it’s a great way to get more veggies on your plate. Paired with a spicy- sweet dipping sauce, it’s the ideal snack over cocktails on the patio.
Salted Caramel Chocolate Strawberries
A simple but delicious dessert
Mushroom Elk Burger with Saskatoon Onion Chutney
A creative take on a summer favourite
Kale Caesar Salad with Pepper Jerky
Everything tastes better with jerky!
